Please briefly describe your journey to Faith Christian School and what attracted you to the school.

A friend invited us to an Open House in 2003 just as the Lower School was being formed. It was our trust in the vision and character of the administration that drew us to FCS. There were no Lower School classrooms to observe or teachers to meet, but we placed great trust in the leadership.

What do you find most compelling or distinct about Christian classical education? Why might you want your own children to have this education?

Christian classical education trains a child to think deeply about everything—something I believe to be imperative in their adult lives. The process of training a child to view all things through the lens of Scripture (meaning: how do I view this literature, this piece of art, this application of science because I know the Scriptures) becomes a life-long habit of considering Christ in all things in their lives after FCS. By integrating subject matter in class they are trained to understand that nothing can be studied in a vacuum and it is necessary to ask difficult questions to dig out the most complete answers thereby training them to be curious, inquisitive problem-solvers. These skills are difference makers in college, in careers and professions, and in life. Christian classical education goes way beyond what one typically considers school education. It helps form the very core of a child's heart to impact who a child grows to become as an adult.
