Classical Christian Education Possibilities
One of my favorite parts of serving as Director of Admissions at Faith Christian School is introducing families to the possibilities of Christian classical education. I love watching parents discover that education can be about so much more than academics. But my perspective is also personal. As the mother of FCS graduates, I've had the privilege of seeing how this education shapes students not only during their school years but long after graduation.
One thing I encourage parents to consider is that no education is neutral. Every school's curriculum, teaching methods, faculty, and culture communicate a particular understanding of the world. Education shapes not only what children know, but also what they value, how they think, and who they become. That's why choosing a school involves more than evaluating academic programs. It means considering who will influence your children, what they will learn, and what kind of people their education is preparing them to become.
What Do Our Graduates Say?
Since Faith Christian School was founded in 1997, we've heard consistently encouraging reflections from graduates about how their Christian classical education prepared them for college and beyond.
Compared with their peers, our graduates report that they:
Feel better prepared for demanding writing assignments and academic workloads.
Are confident speaking publicly and engaging professors and other adults.
Can articulate and defend their Christian faith.
Seek meaningful friendships and navigate difficult relationships more effectively.
Approach unfamiliar material with confidence and curiosity.
Have a deeper appreciation for literature, music, and the arts.
Enjoy classes that encourage discussion and thoughtful questions.
As both an admissions director and a parent, these are the outcomes that matter to me. Academic preparation is important, but so are discernment, confidence, character, and the ability to engage thoughtfully with the world.
An Education That Makes a Lasting Difference
I'll be the first to acknowledge that Christian classical education isn't always the easiest path. Students sometimes wish for fewer assignments, more electives, or a less demanding academic experience. But when they enter college and encounter challenging coursework, unfamiliar perspectives, and greater independence, many begin to appreciate the preparation they received.
At Faith Christian School, our expectations are intentionally high, but so is the support we provide. Our teachers cultivate habits of perseverance, curiosity, careful reasoning, and thoughtful communication. More importantly, we believe education should direct students toward what is good, true, and beautiful, ultimately pointing them toward God, who is the source of all three.
Our goal isn't simply to prepare students for college. We want to help develop young men and women who think clearly, love what is good, stand firm in their faith, serve others, and live with purpose.
Come See What's Possible
As an FCS parent, I've seen the lasting value of this education in my own family. As Director of Admissions, I have the joy of helping other families discover what it might mean for theirs.
I'd love to show you what makes Faith Christian School different and help you imagine what's possible for your child. Explore the benefits of Christian classical education or schedule a visit. I look forward to meeting you!
