Each fall, we honor our Grandparents and Grand-friends as we welcome them into our school for a special opportunity to spend time in the classroom. The program features various aspects of school life (JK-12). After a visit to the classroom, students with prior permission may depart school early with their Grandparents or Grand-friends.
This event will be held on October 24 at 6:30 pm. All parents are encouraged to attend
Our time together will cast a vision for the school and equip and inspire parents to share FCS with others in the Roanoke Valley.
Child care (ages 4-Grade 5) provided for those for whom it will allow attendance. Children grades 6-12 are welcome to attend.
A day set aside in the fall for parents of students JK-12th grade to meet individually with their child's teacher(s) to discus the child's progress and needs. Children are not present during the conference but work spaces are provided for the children while their parents are in conferences. Parent/teach conferences call also be requested by the parent at any time.
An email will be sent several weeks prior to the conference date that will allow you to set a time for your conference.
Parents start the evening with a brief presentation from the Head of Middle and Upper School in the Great Room and then proceed to the classrooms. Teachers lead parents in a brief lesson and description of the course or school year. It's our special "bird's eye view" of the year. This event is for parents only. Childcare is not offered at Middle and Upper School Back to School Night.

All families of M/US students are invited to attend the kick off event of the school year - the Luau!
All M/US families and students. (If younger siblings attend, parents are required to stay.)

Where: Spring Run Pool
Cost is $8 per person or free with a SPQR membership.

This tradition is held the first Friday of the School year in celebration of the seniors and kindergarten students. The seniors dramatize a classic story for the entire school. At the conclusion, kindergarten students are assigned their senior buddies. All parent are invited to attend.
FAMILIES NEW TO FCS (families that have not previously had a student enrolled at FCS)
All new families should plan to arrive at 9:00 am.
- Lower School Families new to FCS meet the teachers.
- Middle and Upper School families new to FCS attend a brief meeting in the Library.
